Wilwigo Private Alpha Privacy Notice
Operator: Wilwigo Inc. Product: Wilwigo Version: L1-P-1.6 Effective date: 2026-08-29
1. About this Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains how Wilwigo collects, uses, shares, retains and protects personal information when you use the Wilwigo private alpha.
Wilwigo is operated by Wilwigo Inc., a Canadian federal corporation registered in Ontario, Canada, and is available to adults age 18 or older who are legally permitted to use the service where they are located. Depending on where you are located, additional privacy laws or rights may apply. This Privacy Notice does not limit rights that applicable law does not permit Wilwigo to limit.
Wilwigo Inc. is responsible for Wilwigo’s privacy practices for this alpha and has designated a Privacy Officer accountable for those practices.
2. The most important things to know
Wilwigo helps friends share planned city-level presence and notice when their plans overlap.
Wilwigo does not use your device GPS. Your Wilwigo location is inferred from the home base and trips you enter and is not proof of where you physically are.
Your accepted friends may see your home city and country, city-level presence, trips you choose to share with friends, and related overlap information.
People who are not your accepted friends are not permitted to receive your home city or country.
Hidden stays
A Hidden stay remains visible to you but is not disclosed to your friends.
For friend-facing location and overlap features, Wilwigo ignores a Hidden stay. Unless another Friends-visible stay applies, this means Wilwigo may show you to friends as being at home even while you are physically away.
Because Wilwigo reflects plans and inferred information rather than verified physical location, you should not rely on it to determine where another person actually is.
3. Information Wilwigo collects
Depending on how you use Wilwigo, we collect or create:
Account information
Information needed to authenticate and maintain your account, including information received through Google sign-in and your Wilwigo account identifier.
Wilwigo does not receive your Google password.

Information you provide for your profile, such as:
- display name;
- username;
- home city and country;
- home-base place information; and
- other profile information supported by the service.
Trip information
Information you enter about your trips, including:
- cities or places;
- dates and timing;
- visibility choices;
- trip status; and
- optional trip details.
Friendship and social information
Information relating to:
- friend requests and friendships;
- blocks;
- invitations;
- inferred city-level presence;
- Catches and other overlap information; and
- in-app notifications.
Legal, support and account-management information
This includes:
- records showing which Terms, Privacy Notice and acknowledgment you accepted and when;
- support or privacy requests you send to Wilwigo; and
- information needed to process an account-deletion request.
Technical and security information
Wilwigo and the services used to operate it may generate technical or security records needed to authenticate users, operate the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems and protect accounts.
4. How Wilwigo uses your information
Wilwigo uses personal information to:
- create and authenticate your account;
- operate your profile;
- maintain your home base and trips;
- connect you with friends;
- apply friendship, blocking and visibility choices;
- infer city-level presence from the information you enter;
- calculate and display Catches and other overlaps;
- provide in-app notifications;
- maintain, secure and troubleshoot Wilwigo;
- prevent or investigate misuse or unauthorized access;
- respond to support, access, correction and deletion requests; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Wilwigo does not sell your personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Wilwigo will not use personal information for a materially different new purpose without providing notice and obtaining consent where required.
5. Who can receive your information
Your friends
Your accepted friends receive only the information Wilwigo makes friend-visible according to your friendship, blocking and trip-visibility choices.
This can include your home city and country, inferred city-level presence, Friends-visible trips, and related overlap information.
Hidden stays are not disclosed as described above.
Service providers
Wilwigo uses service providers to perform functions such as:
- authentication;
- database hosting and storage;
- place search;
- application hosting and delivery;
- support and operational communications; and
- security and infrastructure.
These providers may process only the information needed to perform the functions Wilwigo uses them for.
Some personal information may be processed outside Ontario or Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws, including lawful access by courts, law-enforcement or national-security authorities.
Legal and protective disclosures
Wilwigo may use or disclose personal information without consent where permitted or required by applicable law, including where reasonably necessary to respond to valid legal requirements, investigate security incidents, prevent harm or protect legal rights.
6. Location information and privacy
Wilwigo does not use device GPS in this private alpha.
The city-level presence shown in Wilwigo is derived from the home base and trips entered into the service.
Home-base information needed to operate that system may include place information and coordinates. Your home-base coordinates and history are not shown to friends.
Your accepted friends may see your home city and country and other permitted city-level information.
Wilwigo location information can be incomplete, outdated or intentionally approximate—for example when you use a Hidden stay—and should never be treated as verified physical location.
7. Information Wilwigo does not need
Do not provide information that Wilwigo does not need, such as:
- passwords or authentication tokens;
- passport or identity-document numbers;
- financial-account information;
- health information;
- booking, recovery or access codes;
- precise accommodation addresses; or
- unnecessary sensitive information about another person.
Wilwigo does not currently use your device contacts, device GPS, advertising identifiers, behavioural advertising or session-replay technology.
8. Retention and deletion
Wilwigo keeps personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, subject to security, legal and deletion requirements.
In general:
- your account and profile information are retained while your account remains active;
- trips remain until you delete them, your account is deleted, or another applicable product lifecycle removes them;
- home-base history is retained while needed to operate your city-level timeline and until removed through the applicable deletion process;
- friendship, request and notification information follows the applicable Wilwigo lifecycle for those features; and
- some limited records may need to remain temporarily in protected backups or service-provider systems before ordinary deletion cycles complete.
When you submit an account-deletion request through Wilwigo, Wilwigo will delete your account and active account information within 30 days. The deletion process includes the active profile and associated product information under Wilwigo’s control.
After account deletion, Wilwigo may retain minimized acceptance evidence and minimized deletion evidence for 24 months for accountability purposes.
These minimized records should not contain your ordinary profile, home-base, trip, friendship or detailed notification information.
Backup copies may persist temporarily until ordinary backup rotation completes. A completed deletion must be reapplied before restored data is made available for active use.
Some limited security, legal, provider or operational records may remain for longer where permitted or required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary for a documented security or legal purpose.
Where applicable law requires Wilwigo to retain security-breach records, those records are retained for the legally required period.
9. Account deletion
While signed in, open the Wilwigo side menu, choose Delete account, and confirm the request.
After you submit the request, Wilwigo will delete your account and active account information within 30 days. Wilwigo may take reasonable steps to verify that the request comes from the account holder before final deletion.
If you cannot access your account, use Wilwigo’s public account-deletion resource or contact:
Where possible, make the request from the email associated with your Wilwigo account.
Signing out or deleting information from an individual feature does not by itself delete your entire account.
Some limited information may remain after deletion where reasonably necessary or legally permitted or required, as explained in the retention section above.
10. Your privacy choices and rights
You can edit supported profile, home-base and trip information directly in Wilwigo.
You may also contact Wilwigo to:
- ask whether Wilwigo holds personal information about you;
- request access to that information;
- ask how it has been used or disclosed;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request account deletion; or
- raise a question or complaint about Wilwigo’s privacy practices.
Access may be subject to limited exceptions permitted by applicable law.
Where consent may legally be withdrawn, you may withdraw it subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
If the information or processing is necessary to provide Wilwigo, withdrawal may mean that you can no longer use some or all of the service.
11. Security
Wilwigo uses administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information it handles.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
If Wilwigo becomes aware of a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, Wilwigo will notify affected individuals and report the breach as required by applicable law.
12. Changes to this Notice
Each version of this Privacy Notice has a version number and effective date.
If Wilwigo makes a material change to how personal information is collected, used or shared, or materially changes who can see your information, Wilwigo will provide appropriate notice and obtain renewed consent where required before applying the change.
Minor wording, formatting or clarification changes that do not materially change Wilwigo’s privacy practices may not require renewed acceptance.

Questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests and privacy complaints may be sent to:
